Students from Indian Queen Elementary School received free toothbrushes and hygiene instruction from a mobile dentist Jan. 14.
A dentist with the Smiles Program, a national dental hygiene organization that partners with schools to bring dental education to children, came to the Fort Washington school and 25 students were able to receive teeth check-ups.
The rest of the student body benefited from an in-class workshop on proper hygiene and received toothbrushes, said Aundrea McCall, Indian Queen’s principal.
