After looking for her three dogs since Thursday, Bonnie Johnson’s search would come to an end early Monday.
She said she was sitting at a table in her home around 1 a.m. when she heard a noise.
“All of a sudden, I heard whining at the front door,” said Johnson, of Takoma Park. “I thought, ‘I’d better check it out.’”
Greeting her at the door was her large, cream-colored dog Pradesh.
“All the other dogs began weeping for joy,” Johnson said.
With Pradesh’s arrival back at home, Johnson’s three dogs had all been found.
Her two puppies — about 6 months old with floppy ears — were found after a woman who lives near Rolling Terrace Elementary School reported two dogs in her backyard.
The three dogs had escaped from Johnson’s home — along with her other dogs who were found sooner — after a storm last week caused her front door to blow open.
Pradesh had lost weight after his multi-day absence from home, Johnson said, but he was treated to a “gigantic feeding” upon his arrival.
“My very heavy heart is greatly lifted,” Johnson said.
