Prizewinning cellist Dariusz Skoraczewski will join The National Philharmonic for Tchaikovsky’s “Variations on a Rococo Theme,” at 8 p.m. Saturday and 3 p.m. Sunday at the Music Center at Strathmore in North Bethesda. The program, led by guest conductor Mirosław Jacek Błaszczyk, also will feature Tchaikovsky’s “Symphony No. 4” and Witold Lutosławski’s “Cello Concerto.” The “Variations on a Rococo Theme” was the closest Tchaikovsky ever came to writing a full concerto for cello and orchestra. A free lecture will be offered at 6:45 p.m. Saturday and at 1:45 p.m. Sunday in the Concert Hall. For more information, visit www.nationalphilharmonic.org
