Cynthia Jean Cowell of Poolesville died Dec. 27, 2012, of Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy/Complex Regional Pain Syndrome and complications of pnuemonia.

Born to William Edward McAlister and Donna Jane McAlister, she is survived by Tad E. Cowell, her husband of 19 years.

In addition to her parents and husband, she is survived by her children, Tad E. Cowell Jr. and Tyler L. Cowell, and her siblings, Jessica Davis and husband Kevin of Willow Grove, Pa., Michael McAlister of Roslyn, Pa., and Robert McAlister of Roslyn, Pa.

A Mass of Christian Burial took place at 11 a.m. Jan. 5, 2013, at Our Lady of the Presentation Church in Poolesville. Collins Funeral Home in Silver Spring handled the arrangements.
