A Thurmont woman who was hit by a car Sunday died shortly after 5 p.m. Monday as a result of her injuries, according to the Frederick County Sheriff’s Office.
Taylor Shae Toms, 22, was struck by a car at about 7:30 p.m. in the 10,000 block of Hansonville Road in Thurmont, the sheriff’s office said in a news release.
Cpl. Jennifer Bailey, a spokeswoman for the sheriff’s office, was not immediately available for comment.
Toms was walking with a friend along Hansonville Road when she entered the travel lane and was hit by a southbound vehicle driven by Patricia Ann Fredericks, 53, of Thurmont, the release said.
Toms was flown by state police helicopter to R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma in Baltimore for treatment after the accident. Fredericks was uninjured.
The investigation is continuing.
