One southbound lane of Connecticut Avenue is open between Dresden and Franklin streets. Two lanes will remain closed for roadway repair. An estimated time when the lanes will reopen is not yet available.

All southbound lanes of Connecticut Avenue were closed between Dresden and Franklin streets on Monday due to a water main break, said Kira Lewis, a spokeswoman for the Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission.

Crews are currently on site, but it is unclear when Connecticut Avenue will reopen.

The break occurred at approximately 11 a.m. Monday and is affecting 18 residential customers. Northbound lanes were closed earlier on Monday but were reopened, she said.

She said no residential flooding was reported.

“As best I can see, there was some pretty good water on the road,” Lewis said Monday. “They shut down the main so all the water has receded. There's just some dirt on the roadway.”
