Congratulations to Michael Catlin of Boy Scout Troop 3711 who received the rank of Eagle Scout, the highest rank in scouting.

Michael, of New Market, is a junior at Oakdale High School. He also is the first Tiger Cub from Boy Scout Troop 3711 to achieve the rank of Eagle Scout.

His performed his Eagle Scout project at Homewood At Crumland Farms retirement community in Frederick.

Michaelís work consisted of clearing the creek bed adjacent to the picnic area and playground; cleaning, staining and painting outdoor furniture; and building and installing a new bench for the playground area, and a general clean-up of the area.

The picnic and playground are used by the residents of Homewood and their families.
