An accidental fire in the engine compartment of a 1999 Ford van caused $4,000 in damage on Wednesday night, state investigators report, at Willows Road in Lexington Park.

Four Bay District volunteer firefighters dispatched to the 10:58 p.m. blaze in Joseph Price’s vehicle brought it under control within three minutes after their arrival, according to a notice of investigation by deputy state fire marshal John Nelson.
