The Chesapeake Bay is one of the world’s largest and most precious jewels, especially to those who live in the Calvert County area. The Chesapeake Bay is one of nature’s most precious gifts that a lot of us take for granted. We as citizens don’t take the necessary steps to make sure it is protected so that it can prosper and be around for many more years to come.
Although many organizations such as the Chesapeake Bay Foundation reach out to help protect the bay, more needs to be done. Yes, there have been improvements, but changes still need to be made. Statistics show that up to a third of the nitrogen that pollutes the bay and its rivers comes from the air. If we all care a little more and use a little less, then even more improvements can be made. One person can make a difference, but even more can change as a nation, and it starts with us, Calvert County.
