The evening includes hors d’oeurves, a champagne toast at midnight, a late night continental breakfast, free party favors and a DJ spinning tunes until 2 a.m. The party starts at 8 p.m. General admission tickets are $35 and include three drink tickets. Bowlmor Lanes (formerly Strike Bethesda) rolls into 2013 in style with two New Year’s Eve parties. A family event runs from 4-7 p.m. and includes three hours of unlimited bowling, shoe rental, a buffet and unlimited soda. The second party gets underway at 9 p.m. and runs to 1 a.m. The general admission package includes a gourmet buffet and open bar while the Ball Drop Bash package includes four hours of unlimited bowling, shoe rentals, a gourmet buffet and premium open bar. Boogie your way into 2013 with Glen Echo’s Boogie Woogie Blow Out featuring Mitch Woods & His Rocket 88s and international recording artist with local roots, Daryl Davis. Dance the night away to music inspired by the big bands of the 1940s. Beginner swing dance lessons from Tom Koerner and Debra Sternberg are included in the admission price and begin at 8 p.m., before the band takes the stage at 9 p.m. All tickets are $25 and will be sold at the door. Washington, D.C.’s “premier Blues Man,” Linwood Taylor and his band headline this year’s D.C. Blues Society New Year’s Eve bash. The Linwood Taylor Band will rock the house at Wheaton American Legion Post No. 268, located at 11225 Fern St. Doors open at 7:30 p.m. and the show runs from 8:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. The night features food, champagne and cash prizes. For D.C. Blues Society members, tickets are $30 in advance and $35 at the door. General admission tickets for non-members are $35 in advance and $40 at the door.
