Robert “Bob” Schaller has been appointed site director of the Florida Institute of Technology’s Patuxent Graduate Center.

Schaller, a full-time faculty member who has taught graduate coursework for more than 12 years, brings his economic development expertise and track record of student success to his new role, according to a news release announcing the promotion.

Schaller has had extensive experience matching community members with businesses in his work at St. Mary’s County Department of Economic and Community Development, the release states.

He served as president of the Business, Education and Community Alliance.

“Our location, just outside of the Patuxent River Naval Air Station, attracts a high caliber of students attending and graduating from Florida Tech. This includes CEOs in local industry and the executive director of the Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division,” Schaller said in the release. “The Florida Tech mission and my own coincide in many ways.”

Schaller said he is thrilled to have the opportunity to provide education that is relevant to the workforce of the community.
