Living Faith Lutheran Church in Rockville celebrates its 60th birthday this month.

The church was founded in 1952 as Crusader Lutheran Church, the city’s first Lutheran congregation, a news release from the church said. The church changed its name in 2011, and is currently located at 1605 Veirs Mill Road.

To mark 60 years as a congregation, church members set goals to collect 60 mosquito nets, 60 pounds of soap, 60 children’s books and 60 handmade quilts. The members exceeded all their goals, and will donate the items to various charities.
