Christopher S. Barclay (Dist. 4) of Takoma Park will serve for the second time as president of the Board of Education.
Board members elected Barclay on Tuesday, replacing Shirley Brandman (At-large) of Bethesda, who has been president for a year.
Barclay had been serving as vice president of the board. He was president in 2010 and vice president in 2009.
Philip Kauffman (At-large) of Olney was elected vice president, replacing Barclay.
This is Kauffman’s first time serving as an officer on the board.
Both Barclay and Kauffman were re-elected in the Nov. 6 election.
