Poolesville held its seventh annual Holiday Lighting Ceremony Friday evening on Whalen Commons. About a thousand people showed up, according to Cathy bupp, the town’s event planner. Poolesville high’s music department played in the Town Hall foyer, and there were art and food vendors on hand throughout the evening. In the “Old Town Hall,” about 50 children decorated gingerbread men. Town businesses were open late, and Calleva, a local famr and outdoor adventure camp , provided tractors and decorated wagons for “Polar Express” through Poolesville, she said.
And of course, “Santa was very busy,” she said.
