Montgomery Blair High School football coach Jeff Seals said he will not return to lead the team next year.
Seals said Athletic Director Rita Boule told him after the team's 2-8 season that the school wanted a change.
"I was told I was no longer needed," Seals said. "They're going in a different direction. I can respect that."
Boule didn't immediately return a message seeking comment.
Seals was 25-65 in nine seasons and had only one year with a winning record, a 6-4 mark in 2005.
"Life goes on," Seals said.
Seals departure means three Montgomery County public high schools are looking for new coaches. Neal Owens said last month that Richard Montgomery also wanted to go in a different direction and asked for his resignation. Bethesda-Chevy Chase coach Rich Noland resigned to spend more time with his family.
