Officers responding to a report Sunday of a disorderly woman in the 2500 block of Lisa Drive in Waldorf arrested her after she struck one of them, the Charles County Sheriff's Office reported.

Officers arrived at 9:30 a.m. to find Kyley Marie McConnell, 32, of Waldorf acting disorderly. She refused to cooperate and hit one of the officers, who arrested her, police reported.

Witnesses told officers that McConnell had earlier thrown a newspaper at someone, striking them in the face, and thrown a bicycle at a car, damaging the front fender.

The witnesses also saw McConnell rummaging through a nearby vehicle.

McConnell has been charged with assaulting a police officer, assault, destruction of property and disorderly conduct. She is being held on $3,000 bail.

Officer B. Kunz made the arrest.
