Emma Richards “Maw” Witczak, 86, of Morningside died Oct. 23, 2012, at her son’s home in Chesterfield, S.C.

She was born June 18, 1926, in Washington, D.C., to the late Edward and Clara Ebert Richards.

She was a homemaker. She loved playing bingo and giving her son, George, a “hard time.”

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Florian “Beco” Witczak; one sister; and nine brothers.

She is survived by her sons, F. Witczak of Chesterfield, S.C., and Jeff D. and his wife, Shori Needham, of Lakewood, Colo.; daughters, Mary Lou and her husband, Mike Entwislem of Port Republic, Helen Kay Emanuel and special friend, Richard Sellers, of Chesterfield, S.C., and Martha Ann and her husband, Ray Mencer, of Owings; brothers, Vincent L. Richards and Ralph “Pete” Richards, both of Waldorf; 12 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.

Family received friends Oct. 27 followed by a funeral service at Lee’s Funeral Home in Clinton.

Interment was held at Resurrection Cemetery in Clinton.
