A grocery store security guard was hospitalized after being shot by two armed men following a shooting in Laurel.

Prince Georgeís police said around 8 p.m. Thursday, officers responded to the Bottom Dollar Food Store at the 12600 block of Laurel-Bowie Road for the report of a shooting.

ďUpon arrival officers found the victim, who was a security guard, suffering from a gunshot wound,Ē said Cpl. Maria McKinney, a county police spokeswoman.

McKinney said two masked gunmen entered the store, approached the security guard and took the manís firearm before leaving the store.

How the men fled is still under investigation as is a motive for the incident, McKinney said.

The shooting victim was taken to an area hospital for non-life-threatening injuries and is expected to make a full recovery, McKinney said.

A Bottom Dollar Food Store manager declined to comment.

Lt. William Alexander, a county police spokesman, said police are obtaining video surveillance from the store and may release the footage to the public later.
