Montgomery County Public Schools Superintendent Joshua P. Starr will hold a Community Day on Thursday, Nov. 29, at schools in the Damascus, Gaithersburg, Magruder and Watkins Mill clusters. This is the make-up date for the Oct. 29 Community Day that was cancelled because of Hurricane Sandy.
The Community Days are an opportunity for Starr to spend a day meeting with staff, visiting schools and hearing from parents.
“He is hoping to visit between five and six schools during the day,” said Dana Tofig, MCPS spokesman. “They will most likely be schools he has not visited before [as] Dr. Starr hopes to have visited all 202 schools in the county by the end of this school year.”
The day will end with a town hall event at 7:30 p.m. at Shady Grove Middle School, 8100 Midcounty Highway, Gaithersburg.
Free childcare and interpretation services will be available at the meeting.
