Frederick City police arrested seven people during their saturation patrols on Wednesday and Saturday.
The police made four driving under the influence arrests and two arrests for driving with a suspended license during a patrol Wednesday, according to information from the Frederick Police Department.
They also made another driving under the influence arrest during the patrol Saturday and checked 207 people at the sobriety checkpoint.
The patrols are part of Operation Save Our Loved Ones, a Maryland Highway Safety Office initiative designed to generate broad awareness of the ongoing effort to reduce impaired driving deaths to zero. Funding for the patrols comes from the state safety office. From Oct. 26 through December, police patrol targeted areas identified as high profile due to the volume of impaired driving arrests and alcohol-related crashes, according to police information.
