Students at St. Michaelís Catholic School in Ridge send a message to victims of Hurricane Sandy as they stand in front of a 53-foot tractor trailer with food and supplies donated at the school to assist those affected by the storm earlier this month. The truck arrived in Northfield, N.J., on Nov. 16. St. Michaelís efforts got the truck about three-quarters full and also collected $1,600 in cash donations. The school coordinated with the Archdiocese of Camden to send $1,600 worth of grocery store gift cards ($25 increments) to distribute. There was also $150 collected and sent to the American Red Cross. The school thanks Quality Transfer and Storage for transporting the trailer to New Jersey, Kessler Body & Equipment for loaning the trailer for collection and delivery, St. Michaelís School families and friends for spreading the word about the collection and to all who donated.
