Charles E. Rimer Jr., 68, of Rogersville, Tenn., died Oct. 9, 2012, at the James H. Quillen V.A. Medical Center.

He was a 20 years retired Army combat engineer, having served five tours in Vietnam. He was also retired from Dodge Reliance Electric.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Edith Arnold; his father, Charles E. Rimer Sr,; and a sister, Thelma Rimer.

He is survived by his children, Janice C. Rimer Blackistone (Roy) of Chaptico, Paula Rimer Stansbury (Mike) of Mechanicsville, Becky Rimer Marquardt of Charlotte Hall, Charles E. “Chuck” Rimer III (Rhonda) of Mechanicsville, Angie Rimer Covington (Mark) of Rogersville and Shelie Rimer Barton of Rogersville; his grandchildren, Richard Marquardt of Charlotte Hall, Michael Roy Blackistone of Chaptico, Aaron Stansbury of Mechanicsville, Amanda Stansbury of Mechanicsville and Charles T. Barton of Rogersville; his brother, Larry Rimer of Rogersville; his sister, Vera Rimer Simpson of Rogersville; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Hawkins County Color Guard and Tennessee Army National Guard conducted military honors on Oct. 12 at Christian-Sells Funeral Home in Rogersville, Tenn.
