Ann Elizabeth Burton, 65, Bethesda

Ann Elizabeth Burton, 65, of Bethesda died Sept. 11, 2012, at home.

Born Jan. 27, 1947, in Washington, D.C., she was the daughter of Hazel E. Hancock and the late William Stanton Burton.

Ms. Burton had a masterís degree and was a social worker for the Montgomery County Department of Social Services until her retirement. She was active in breeding, raising and showing Lhasa apsos as well as being active in the American Lhasa Apso Club, most recently serving as secretary. She enjoyed reading and watching classic movies.

In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her uncles, Russell Burton, Wilbur Hancock, Harold Hancock and Chester Hancock; and aunt, Hannah Hancock.

In addition to her mother of Bethesda, she also is survived by her uncle, Warren Eugene Burton; aunts Joyce Hancock and Norma Hancock; and many other relatives.

A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Nov. 24 at Raymond Funeral Service, La Plata. Burial will be private. The Rev. Bruce Jones will officiate.
