The Women’s Board of Montgomery General Hospital invites the community to participate in its 27th annual Gifts of Light program.
The program offers a non-denominational tree lighting ceremony for the hospital and community to begin the celebration of the holiday season, as well as an opportunity to dedicate a light in honor or remembrance of loved ones or in recognition of a birth, graduation, or other special events.
A Gifts of Light may be purchased for a minimum of $25, which will be listed in the evening’s program. For a donation of $100 or more, a Life Light will be re-lit and the honoree’s name will be read at the ceremony and listed in the program each year.
The lights are used to illuminate the trees outside the hospital, as well as the Christmas tree in the main lobby.
This year’s Gifts of Light Ceremony will take place at 5 p.m. Dec. 2 in the hospital lobby. The evening will include holiday music, the reading of the Life Light honorees, tree illumination and light refreshments.
The deadline for names to be included in the evening’s program is Nov. 16.
Funds raised benefit the annual Women’s Board scholarship program, as well as their financial pledges to MedStar Montgomery Medical Center. For more information, visit www.medstarmontgomery.org and click on Women’s Board under Ways to Give.
