Flora Emma “Flo” Grant, 76, of Mechanicsville died Nov. 4, 2012, at MedStar St. Mary’s Hospital in Leonardtown.
Born Nov. 18, 1935, in New Kingston, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Francis Paul and the late Anna Waltman Paul.
She was employed as an accountant at the National Zoo in Washington, D.C.
She enjoyed her family, volunteering at the AAFB hospital, crocheting blankets for the returning heroes at Walter Reed Medical Center, reading and crossword puzzles.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Harry John Paul.
She is survived by her husband, Larramont Howard Grant; sons, Francis Grant (Anita) and Harry Grant (Tammi); daughters, Elizabeth “Beth” Curtis (David) and Cathleen “Cathie” Grant; grandchildren, Jason Grant, Nicholle Grant, Patricia Grant, David Grant, Jacqueline Curtis, Ryan Curtis, Joshua Curtis, Ashlie Lanier, Hannah Grant and Chloe Grant; great-grandchildren, C.J., Aiden, Keiondre, Kentrell, Adriyanna and Lanaiya; and sister-in-law, Marie Paul.
The family will receive friends Thursday, Nov. 15, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at Brinsfield-Echols Funeral Home in Charlotte Hall, where a memorial service will be held at 7:30 p.m., with the Rev. Paul Goodwin officiating.
