A Damascus youth drama group plans to use its fall performance to help others across the country.
At 7:30 p.m. Nov. 16, the curtains will open on the Creative Force Players November musical “The 1940s Radio Show.”
The Creative Force Players is a youth group with the Damascus United Methodist Church that performs dramatic and comical musicals for the community’s enjoyment.
The musical follows a newly relocated radio show cast as it deals with complications during its live 1943 Christmas Eve broadcast.
Performances will run from Nov. 16-18, with the Nov. 17 show starting at 7:30 p.m. and the Nov. 18 show beginning at 2 p.m. at 9700 New Church Road.
A portion of the proceeds from the show will be donated to the United Service Organizations and the American Red Cross, in honor of Veterans Day and to assist victims of Hurricane Sandy.
The price of admission is $10 per person and tickets may be purchased at the church or by calling 301-253-0022, ext. 101.
