Greenbelt will hold a ceremony honoring veterans at 10 a.m. Sunday, beginning in front of the veterans monument at city hall. Guest speaker is U.S. Army Lt. Dan Berschinski, a West Point graduate who lost both legs and an arm in Afghanistan.

“His story is very moving, and I encourage everyone to come out and hear him speak,” said Mike Moore, commander of the Greenbelt American Legion Post No. 136.

After the ceremony, lunch will be served at the post hall at 6900 Greenbelt Road, Greenbelt.

At 1 p.m. there will be a dignified disposal ceremony for unserviceable flags. Flags may be dropped off at the American Legion Post hall at any time beforehand. For more information, call 301-345-0136.
