The city of Rockville will honor men and women who have served in the armed forces during a tribute this Veterans Day. The tribute program will include a 21-gun salute and a wreath-laying ceremony.
The program will begin at 11 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 11, at Veterans Park, located at the intersection of Rockville Pike and Veirs Mill Road. Parking is available at St. Mary’s Catholic Church and School or at the Sandy Spring Bank Building.
Rockville’s channel 11 also will honor veterans by sharing some of their stories in a series called “A Salute to Rockville’s Veterans.” See the series on cable channel 11 or at www.youtube.com/cityofrockville.
In recognition of the holiday, Rockville will close City Hall on Monday, Nov. 12, and some facilities will operate on a limited schedule. Call 240-314-5000 or visit www.rockvillemd.gov for more information about specific programs or facilities.
