Patricia Eubanks looks to retain her District 4 Board of Education seat against challenger Micah Watson.
With 76 percent of precincts reporting as of early Wednesday morning, Eubanks had 58 percent of the vote versus Watson’s 42 percent, according to unofficial results on the Prince George’s County Board of Elections website.
Neither Eubanks, 50, of Chapel Oaks or Watson, 37, of Cheverly responded immediately to calls for comment early Wednesday morning.
Eubanks touted her experience as a single mother as being representative of her constituents and said her prior board experience gave her an edge over Watson.
District 4 represents the areas of Bladensburg, Cheverly, Colmar Manor, Cottage City, Glenarden, Glenn Dale, Landover, Landover Hills, Riverdale, Seabrook and Springdale.
Watson, a foreign affairs officer for the U.S. Department of State, campaigned on the ideals that he had the experience to build connections with elected officials and could exhibit leadership he said he did not see from Eubanks in her last term.
