As the Maryland Board of Elections tallies votes in today’s general election, The Gazette will post some of the returns as they come in. Polls closed in Maryland at 8 p.m. Check back to get the latest poll numbers and for a full list of unofficial results, go to the state Board of Elections website.

At 7:45 a.m. with nearly all of the of 1,848 precincts in the state reporting, the following results were in:

President

Barack Obama (D, incumbent) had 61.4 percent of the vote. Mitt Romney (R) had 36.5 percent.

U.S. Senate

Ben Cardin (D, incumbent) had 55.2 percent of the vote. Daniel Bongino (R) had 26.6 percent. Dean Ahmad (Libertarian) had 1.2 percent. Rob Sobhani (Unaffiliated) had 16.9 percent.

U.S. District 3

John Sarbanes (D, incumbent) had 66.5 percent of the vote. Eric Knowles (R) had 29.8 percent. Paul Drgos (Libertarian) had 3.5 percent.

U.S. District 4

Donna Edwards (D, incumbent) had 76.8 percent of the vote. Faith Loudon (R) had 21.1 percent. Scott Soffen (Libertarian) had 2 percent.

U.S. District 5

Steny Hoyer (D, incumbent) had 69.2 percent of the vote. Tony O’Donnell (R) had 27.9 percent. Arvin Vohra (Libertarian) had 1.3 percent. Bob Auerbach (Green) had 1.4 percent.

U.S. District 6

John Delaney (D) had 58.6 percent of the vote. Roscoe Bartlett (R, incumbent) had 38.1 percent. Nickolaus Mueller (Libertarian) had 3.2 percent.

U.S. District 8

Chris Van Hollen (D, incumbent) had 62.5 percent of the vote Ken Timmerman (R) had 33.8 pcercent. Mark Grannis (Libertarian) had 2.1 percent. George Gluck (Green) had 1.5 percent.

Frederick County Board of Education (nonpartisan, vote for three)

Zakir Bengali had 17.7 percent. Tony Chmelik had 14 percent. Colleen Cusimano had 16.6 percent. Kathryn Groth (incumbent) had 23 percent. Joy Schaefer had 21.4 percent. Tom Shade had 7.0 percent

Prince George’s County Board of Education (nonpartisan)

In District 1, Zabrina Epps had 50.28 percent. David Murray had 49.48.

In District 4, Patricia Eubanks (inumbent) had 54.30. Micah Watson had 45.51.

In District 5, Raaheela Ahmed had 47.16. Verjeana Jacobs (incumbent) had 52.64.

In District 7, Henry Armwood (incumbent) had 41.49 percent of the vote. Carletta Fellows had 58.35 percent.

In District 8, Edward Burroughs III (incumbent) had 80.39 percent. Andre Nottingham had 19.37 percent.

Montgomery County Board of Education (nonpartisan)

In the at-large race, Philip Kauffman (incumbent) had 73.6 percent. Morris Panner had 26 percent.

In District 2, Fred Evans (incumbent) had 24.7 percent. Rebecca Smondrowski had 26.1.

In District 4, Christopher Barclay (incumbent) had 28.8 percent. Annita Seckinger had 20.1 percent.
