Stephanie Schrider of Mount Airy was nominated for the a bronze-level Presidential Service award for her contributions to the Indiana Arts Council.
Schrider is a fashion merchandising and marketing double major at Indiana University of Pennsylvania. She is also a 2010 graduate of Urbana High School and the daughter of Robert and Michelle Schrider of Mount Airy.
Schrider volunteered 200 hours to the council — a nonprofit that fosters appreciation for the arts in Indiana County, Pa. — where she led several projects, including a fashion show which benefitted Attire to Aspire.
Attire to Aspire provides professional clothing for women re-entering the workforce.
Schrider was nominated by the councilís volunteer coordinator and will receive a certificate from the national Presidential Council of Service and Civic Participation.
