The man charged with attempted murder after a shooting in Gaithersburg last week was ordered held without bond on Oct. 31 by a Montgomery County district court judge.

Justin Tirell Anderson, 25, of the 200 block of West Deer Park Road in Gaithersburg, was arrested at the scene of a shooting the night of Oct. 30 in the 1000 block of West Side Drive. In addition to attempted murder, Anderson was charged with the use of a handgun in the commission of a felony, said Gaithersburg City Police Spokesman Officer Dan Lane.

No attorney was listed to represent Anderson as of Tuesday afternoon.

Gaithersburg and Montgomery County police both responded to the call in Gaithersburg Oct. 30 at 5:04 p.m. When they arrived at the scene, officers found a man on the ground suffering from multiple gunshot wounds, Lane said. Police apprehended Anderson at the scene but no weapon was recovered, Lane added.

“At this time, no other individuals are believed to be involved,” Lane said. “Anderson was taken into custody but as regards to him cooperating or talking to detectives or not, that I don’t know at this time.”

The victim remained in critical but stable condition this week. An investigation of the incident is in progress, Lane said.
