A driver struck and killed a pedestrian in Chillum Friday afternoon, said Prince George’s County Police.
William Padilla, 47, of no fixed address, was struck about 2 p.m. Friday at the intersection of New Hampshire Avenue and Sheridan Street, according to police. The driver stayed on the scene, police said.
Padilla was not in a crosswalk at the time he was struck, said Cpl. Clinton Copeland, a county police spokesman.
No information was immediately available on what type of car struck Padilla and no charges were pending against the driver as of Saturday, Copeland said.
