The Prince George’s Community College and its supporting foundation have raised about $18 million to support educational activities at the Largo school, according to a statement.
The funds raised surpassed the initial goal of raising about $15 million for the school, according to a statement from the school
“Reaching the fundraising goal so early in our effort speaks to the community’s commitment to supporting high quality education in Prince George’s County,” said Charlene M. Dukes, president of Prince George’s Community College in a statement. “Without the generosity of our donors, Prince George’s Community College would not be able to support our students as they work to achieve their educational goals,” she said.
Having reached the fundraising goal, the school and its foundation have set a new goal of $25 million, according to a statement from the school.
