Jan. 5

1. John Nucci, 50, died at Washington Hospital Center in Washington, D.C., of complications from gunshot wounds he suffered in February 1989, according to The Washington Post. Nucci and a companion were forced at gunpoint to give two men a ride in 1989, according to the Post. The companion was sexually assaulted and left on the Beltway; Nucci later attempted to flee but was shot four times, according to the Post, leaving him paralyzed from the waist down. Irving Brockman and Kelvin Smith were arrested and convicted in connection with a series of similar attacks in Washington, D.C., and Prince George’s County, according to the Post.

2. A call came into Prince George's County's police about 2:18 p.m. from a resident who noticed a man lying outside an apartment complex in the 2000 block of Brooks Drive in Forestville, police said. Darryl Nicholas McCoy, 19, of the 3500 block of Silver Park Drive in Suitland, was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

Jonathan Blades, 27, of Gaithersburg was arrested March 12 and charged with first-degree murder in the case.

Jan. 12

3. Brian Keith Tann, 43, of the 7700 block of Bender Road in Landover was shot and killed by a friend after a dispute Jan. 12 near his home, police said. The friend, Thomas Everett Chester III, 21, of the 7700 block of Bender Road turned himself in to police Jan. 16, police said.

Jan. 13

4. Prince George’s County police found Perry Earl Hunt, 31, of the 5100 block of Sly Fox Court in Upper Marlboro behind an apartment complex trash bin in the 1400 block of Doewood Lane in Capitol Heights, police said. Jamik Sumby, 28, of the 5100 block of North Englewood Drive in Fairmount Heights was arrested Jan. 17 and charged with second-degree murder for killing, police said.

Jan. 22

5. Aeris Beard, 19, and Adam Owsley II, 21, both of Laurel, were found dead around 6:30 p.m. in Owsley’s apartment in the 14100 block of Bramble Court, said Cpl. Henry Tippett, spokesman for the Prince George’s County Police Department. Tippett said that Owsley shot Beard before shooting himself.

Jan. 26

6. The body of Alexandria, Va., community activist Lenwood Harris, 53, who went missing in September, was discovered Jan. 26 after an anonymous caller told Prince George’s County police they would find a body in a well if they went to the abandoned property in the 11900 block of Old Fort Road, police said. Tyrone Lewis, 26, of Fort Washington; Ivan Newman, 20, of Waldorf ; and Linwood Johnson, 49, of Oxon Hill were arrested in connection with Harris’ death.

Jan. 31

7. Prince George’s County police found Joel Craig Brown, 40, of Silver Spring at 6:40 p.m. suffering from apparent gunshot wounds in front of an Adelphi apartment complex in the 1800 block of Metzerott Road. He was transported to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Feb. 6

8. Christopher Donald Smith, 16, of Landover was found shot in a grassy area at about 10:45 p.m. in the 5300 block of 85th Avenue near New Carrollton, police said. Smith was pronounced dead at the scene.

9. Police received a call at 11:32 p.m. that a county ambulance crew returning from the scene of Christopher Donald Smith’s death had spotted a second male lying next to a bicycle in the 5800 block of 78th Avenue, said Cpl. Larry Johnson, a county police spokesman. Alfonso Edward Thompson Jr., 23, of Greenbelt had been shot and was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

Feb. 8

10. Prince George’s County police found Devon Mansa Gilkes, 19, suffering from a gunshot wound inside his Riverdale Park home in the 6400 block of 61st Place. Gilkes was transported to a nearby hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.

March 2

11. Prince George’s County police responded to a report of a shooting and found Delonte Michael McCray, 18, of Suitland suffering from a gunshot wound. McCray was found lying on the street in the 2600 block of Keating Street. He was transported to a hospital and later died.

March 21

12. Prince George’s County police responded to reports of the sound of gunshots around 12:52 a.m. in the 1100 block of Palmer Road in Fort Washington. They found Marcellus Jermaine Jackson, 33, of Greenbelt inside a burning vehicle and suffering from multiple gunshot wounds, county police said. An officer pulled Jackson from the vehicle, but Jackson was pronounced dead on the scene, police said.

March 30

13. At 9:46 p.m. March 30, Brandon Lee Wiggins, 17, of Capitol Heights was killed during a gun battle with another armed gunman in the 1600 block of Brightseat Road in Landover, according to Prince George’s County police.

March 31

14. At around 12:30 a.m., police responded to the report of a shooting at 20th Avenue and Amherst Road in Lewisdale, according to Prince George’s County police. They found Lester Amilcar Flores-Quintanilla, 19, of Alexandria, Va., about a block away in the 2000 block of Woodberry Street, and he was suffering from “trauma to his body,” police said. Flores-Quintanilla was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead, police said.

15. At 7:18 p.m. March 31, Ashley McClurkin, 24, was shot and killed in her apartment in the 3500 block of Terrace Drive in Suitland, according to Prince George’s County police. Audrea Blackwell, 24 of Temple Hills was arrested April 1 in connection with McClurkin’s death, according to police.

April 1

16. Dorothy Ogden, 83, was found fatally shot around 4:25 a.m. April 1 inside her home in the 4100 block of Danville Road in Accokeek, according to Prince George’s County police. Ogden’s granddaughter, Cristalina Warner, 32, was arrested in the killing, police said.

April 3

17. Dennis Mace and his wife, Marilyn Yvette Mace, 52, were found suffering from gunshot wounds around 1:16 a.m. April 3 at their home in the 1000 block of Nyanga Avenue in Capitol Heights, according to Prince George’s County police. Police said they believe Dennis Mace fatally shot his wife before killing himself.

April 4

18. Raquel Israel, 32, was found unresponsive around 9 p.m. April 4 in her apartment bedroom in the 2100 block of Brooks Drive, police said. She was pronounced dead on the scene, and county police said autopsy results showed she died from suffocation. Jermaine Anthony Livingston, 40, and Kimberly Yvette Taylor, 42, both of Washington, D.C., were arrested in connection with Israel’s death. Livingston was being charged with first-degree murder and Taylor was charged with second-degree murder and first-degree assault, police said.

April 7

19. Matthew Cedric Bovell, 26, of the 700 block of Bricker Drive in Fort Washington was found dead of a gunshot wound on a sidewalk in the 7300 block of Webster Turn in Fort Washington at around 7 a.m. Police said they believe Bovell was in the process of stealing from a vehicle when he was shot, but they did not know who shot him.

April 18

20. Latoya Debina Hall, 30, of Suitland was found dead in an apartment in the 4000 block of 28th Avenue around 2:40 p.m. A Prince George’s County police spokesperson said detectives ruled the death a homicide after preliminary signs in the investigation, though he did not know if there was any trauma to her body. Joshua Barlow, 19, of the 4000 block of 28th Avenue in Temple Hills was arrested and charged with first-degree murder in connection with Hall’s death. Police said they believe robbery was the motive.

April 24

21. Ronald Jarohn Minor, 18, of the 6900 block of Walker Mill Road was found shot at 8:18 p.m. in the 1600 block of Addison Road South in unincorporated District Heights, according to Prince George’s County police. He later died at a hospital. Minor was one of four men charged with the Nov. 15, 2011, homicide of 31-year-old Marvin Tomlinson of District Heights, according to county police. Minor was scheduled to go on trial in Prince George’s County Circuit Court and also faces multiple counts of robbery and conspiracy to commit robbery in the Nov. 15 homicide, according to online Prince George’s County District Court records.

April 27

22. Jasmine Nichelle Moss, 23, was found fatally stabbed inside a vehicle in the 7100 block of Mason Street of District Heights, according to Prince George’s County police. Nathan Cedric Rogers, 22, of District Heights — who police say is believed to have been the father of Moss’ unborn child — was charged with first-degree murder.

May 22

23. Maria Delmi Madrid-De Gomez, 37, was found unconscious from a stab wound in the 6500 block of Gateway Boulevard in District Heights after a call at about 12:19 a.m. May 22, said District Heights Police Chief Michael March. Madrid-De Gomez died after being taken to the hospital, according to a police department news release.

Metropolitan police in Washington, D.C., arrested Felipe Gomez, 38, in connection with her death. Gomez’ last known address was in Landover Hills, police said.

June 1

24. Ronald Austin, 26, of the 3900 block of Clairton Drive in Bowie, is charged with first-degree murder in the death of Eric Girard Jones, 36, of Silver Spring in Suitland in June 2007, according to Prince George’s County police and a sheriff’s office news release. Sheriff deputies had a May 30 warrant for Austin’s arrest and located him June 1 at the county courthouse in Upper Marlboro.

June 5

25. Thomas Detter, 43, of Oxon Hill was fatally shot around 9:30 p.m. June 5, according to Prince George’s County police. He was found lying at the bus waiting area at the Southern Avenue Metro Station in Temple Hills suffering from a gunshot wound to his upper body, police said. Norman Marquarus Bonds, 32, of the 3500 block of Dixon Street was arrested in District Heights around 8:50 a.m. June 6 using information gathered from alleged witnesses and the Metro Transit Police Department, police said. Bonds was charged with first-degree murder.

July 3

26. A 12-year-old Fort Washington boy is charged with beating a 2-year-old foster child to death inside his home, according to Prince George’s County police. Police say the boy, who is not being identified because he is a juvenile, is charged with the second-degree murder of Aniyah Batchelor, 2, inside a home in the 1800 block of Taylor Avenue in Fort Washington.

July 12

27. Francis Washington, Jr., 57, of the 11100 block of Cross Road Trail in Brandywine, has been charged with first- and second-degree murder, manslaughter and first-degree assault for killing his 69-year-old cousin, according to Prince George's County police. Around 4:32 p.m., county police officers responded to Washington's home for a shooting and found the suspect's cousin, Thomas Washington, inside the home suffering from a gunshot wounds, county police said. Thomas Washington was pronounced dead on the scene.

July 14

28. Around 6:30 p.m., Prince George’s County police responded to the 1400 block of Kanawha Street in Langley Park for the report of a shooting. Upon arrival they discovered Saul Felipe-Augustine, 23, of no fixed address, in an apartment hallway dead from gunshot wounds.

July 22

29. Amber Danielle Schinault, 36, was found dead in her basement on the 8600 block of 57th Avenue in Berwyn Heights, according to town officers. Andrew Heinz Kugler, 37, of the 4000 block of Hillwood Court in College Park, was arrested July 23 and charged with second-degree murder, first- and second-degree assault and violating a protective order, according to Prince George’s County police.

July 28

30. Around 11 p.m. Bladensburg police officers responded to the 5200 block of Newton Street in Bladensburg for the report of disorderly individuals drinking and chasing each other with a shovel, according to Prince George’s County police. Upon arrival, officers discovered the body of David Krupski, 54, of the 5200 block of Newton Street, police said. Andre Terrell Attaway, 16, of Hyattsville, and James Murray, 17, admitted their involvement in the killing after detectives identified them as suspects in the investigation and are both being charged as adults for first-degree murder and robbery.

Aug. 1

31. Shavon Phillips, 22, of the 5100 block of Fitch Street was found dead in a Fort Washington creek, according to Prince George’s County police. After results came back from the chief medical examiner’s office on Aug. 15, police said they were able to determine she was killed. Joseph Jones, 31, of the 6900 block of Mountain Lake Place in Capitol Heights was arrested Sept. 7.

Aug. 6

32. Anthony Boatwright, 18, of the 5800 block of Foote Street NE in Washington, D.C., was fatally shot in an alleged botched robbery in the 500 block of Temple Hills, according to Prince George’s County police. According to police, just after midnight in the 500 block of Temple Hills Road, Darrel Sales, 18, of the 6100 block of Kildare Court in Fort Washington attempted to rob two victims when a fight broke out leaving Boatwright fatally wounded from a gunshot. Sales is charges with second-degree murder, use of a firearm in a felony crime and first-degree assault.

Aug. 7

33. Just after midnight, Prince George’s County police responded to a call for a shooting in the 10900 block of Woodlawn Boulevard in Upper Marlboro and found Ishmael Boakye, 27 of Riverdale suffering from gunshot wounds, according to police. He was pronounced dead on the scene, according to police. Marcus Devon Reid, 21, of Upper Marlboro was arrested Aug. 9 and charged with first-degree murder.

Aug. 8

34. Around 4 p.m., Prince George’s County police officers responded to the 6200 block of Kenilworth Avenue to conduct a welfare check at a residence and found the body of Ivan Alvaro Aguirre-Herrera, 40, who was pronounced dead on the scene, according to police. Police charged Kobina Ebo Abruquah, 40, of the 6200 block of Kenilworth Avenue with first-degree murder.

Aug. 11

35. Oliver Gregson Davis, 29, of the 700 block of Glacier Avenue in Capitol Heights, was found dead in his apartment, according to Prince George’s County police. Police arrested Davis’ roommate, Travis Everett Hoskins, 19, on Aug. 13 and charged him with the murder.

Aug. 12

36. Around 12:29 p.m., Prince George’s County police officers responded to the 1100 block of Kennebec Street in Oxon Hill for a report of a shooting and found Alejandro Trevor Johnson, 37, of the 7900 block of Allard Court in Glen Burnie suffering from gunshot wounds, according to police. Johnson was taken to a hospital, where he later died, according to police. James Howard Braddy Jr., 35, of the 10000 block of Moreland Street in Fort Washington turned himself in to police custody on Aug. 25.

Aug. 15

37. Deandre Yates, 23, of the 6100 block of Surrey Square Lane in Forestville was found around 2 a.m. suffering from gunshot wounds, according to Prince George’s County police. Yates was taken to an area hospital, where he was pronounced dead, police said.

Aug. 22

38. Amber D. Stanley, 17, of the 100 block of Chartsey Street in Kettering was found dead in her bedroom as a result of gunshot wound around 10:23 p.m. by Prince George’s County police responding to the report of a shooting, police said.

Aug. 24

39. Maritza Alfaro-Abarca, 32, of the 5600 block of Kennedy Street in Riverdale was found dead as a result of a stab wound by Prince George’s County police responding to a call for a welfare check around 8:30 p.m., according to police.

Aug. 29

40. Around 2:29 p.m., Prince George’s County police received a call for a welfare check in the 1800 block of Jasmine Terrace in Adelphi where they found a naked man dead in a large puddle of water, police said.

41. Ingrid Lizet Martinez-Alvarez, 22, of the 7900 block of Riggs Road in Langley Park, was found dead around 8:40 a.m. in a wooded area of the Beltsville park near a creek in the 11500 block of Montgomery Road, according to Prince George’s County police.

Sept. 11

42. A male was found dead with trauma to his upper body in the 6100 block of Central Avenue in Capitol Heights, according to Prince George’s County police.

43. Marckel Norman Ross, 18, of the 400 block of Abel Avenue in Capitol Heights was found dead at 6:50 a.m. in the 6100 block of Old Central Avenue suffering from a gunshot wound to his upper body, according to Prince George’s County police.

Sept. 16

44. Brittany Sade McKinley, 25, of Capitol Heights was found dead inside her vehicle after 6 a.m. by Prince George’s County police who responded to the area for the report of gunshots, according to police. Police said Michael Jerome Stewart, 33, of the 4800 block of Amberfield Way in Upper Marlboro has been identified as a suspect.

Oct. 11

45. Around 11:30 p.m., Prince George’s County police found responded to a call for a shooting in the 1800 block of Village Green Drive and found Dlonte Renard Days, 23, in his home suffering from gunshot wounds. Days was taken to an area hospital, where he was pronounced dead several hours later, police said.

Oct. 15

46. Around 2:22 p.m., Prince George’s County police responded to a report of a shooting in the 3400 block of 25th Avenue in Hillcrest Heights and found Troy Remar Neal, 19, of the same block address, suffering from a gunshot wound, police said. Neal was taken to an area hospital and was pronounced dead, police said.
