The College Park Youth and Family Services, a nonprofit community organization that promotes positive youth development, is seeking participation in this year’s “Halloween Thing,” a free Halloween community event in College Park.

The nonprofit has hosted the event for more than 30 years, offering children and their families an opportunity to showcase creative costumes, compete in games, win prizes, create crafts and tour a haunted hallway staffed by University of Maryland, College Park, students.

The event will be held from 10 a.m. to noon Oct. 27 at the CPYFS facility at 4912 Nantucket Road.
