Host Hotels & Resorts of Bethesda reported that its third-quarter net loss widened to $36 million from $35 million in the prior-year quarter. Revenues rose to $1.20 billion from $1.13 billion. Revenue per available room grew to $142.82 from $132.75, as occupancy rose to 78.4 percent from 76.3 percent and average daily rate rose to $182.06 from $173.92.
Frederick County Bancorp of Frederick, parent of Frederick County Bank, reported that its third-quarter profit grew to $301,000 from $156,000 in the prior-year quarter. Assets at Sept. 30 totaled $311.5 million, up from $291.2 million a year earlier.
