The Millwood-Waterford Citizens Association, located in District Heights, awarded 15 scholarships Sept. 8 totaling $12,000 to Prince George’s County area students who are applying for college or already attending a university. The scholarship is open to all county residents and awards went to the following people: Breanna Beard of Springdale’s Charles H. Flowers High School; Brandolyn Burks of Temple University in Philadelphia; Katherine Burks of Charles H. Flowers High School; Kyla Butler of Archibishop Carroll High School in Washington, D.C.; Taisje Claiborne of Temple University; Tiffany Davis of St. John’s College High School in Washington, D.C.; Tarnisha Jones of Coppin State University in Baltimore; Jessica Joyner of Winston Salem State University in Winston-Salem, N.C.; Diamond Levy of Largo High School; Tyler Lindsay of Forestville’s Bishop McNamara High School; Jasmine Price of Laurel High School; Brandon Roberson of Upper Marlboro’s Frederick Douglass High School; Devon Taliaferro of University of Maryland Eastern Shore; Tannia Whalen of Greenbelt’s Eleanor Roosevelt High School; and Gina Wilson of Bowie State University.
