A boy has been abducted from a Landover gas station and Prince George’s County police are still seeking the child’s whereabouts.
The incident happened around 8:02 a.m. Wednesday at an Exxon gas station in the 7500 block of Landover Road and involved the father taking the child away from the mother who was pumping gas at the time, said Cpl. Larry Johnson, a county police spokesman.
Johnson said the father jumped into the black Honda Accord and drove off with the boy in the car. He said the boy is either 4 or 5 years old.
County police located the black Honda on Hawthorne Street in Landover, but it was abandoned, he said.
Johnson said there has been mention that a handgun was involved, but that has not been verified.
County police said they do not believe there is a parental agreement between the child’s mother and father.
The investigation is ongoing.
