Downtown Silver Spring will play host to the second annual Maryland Festival of the Arts on Oct. 13-14. Admission is free. National and international artists will offer residents and visitors a visually-stunning palette of original, hand-crafted artwork. View and purchase creations by painters, sculptors, photographers, jewelers, digital artists, glass, fiber and ceramic artisans; also artwork in mixed-media, metal, and wood. More than 10,000 pieces of extraordinary original art will be offered. Many of these nationally- and internationally-acclaimed artisans are represented in major museums and prestigious private collections throughout the world. Each artist is selected by a jury of fine art professionals on the quality and originality of their work. Artists are available throughout the event. The festival runs from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday. For more information, visit www.paragonartsevents.com.
