The Sandy Spring Volunteer Fire Department invites the community to attend its annual Fire Prevention Week Open House from 1 to 4 p.m. Oct. 7.
The free event, with activities designed for all ages, will take place at Station 40, located at 16911 Georgia Ave.
Childrenís activities include a puppet show, a helicopter, fire safety house, a visit from Sparky the Fire Dog, a hose maze, and a chance to dress up in gear and squirt a hose just like a firefighter.
Other attractions will include a helicopter visit, rope safety and stove safety demonstrations, blood pressure screening, and a variety apparatus on display.
The Auxiliary will host a farmerís market and offer baked goods and hot dogs for sale.
