How Montgomery County plans for the future will be the topic of an open house on Saturday at the Planning Departmentís headquarters, 8787 Georgia Ave., Silver Spring.
Information about how planning translates to where residents live, work and play; what do planners do; how their work and that of the Planning Board affects neighborhoods; and more will be available at the open house, according to a news release.
The latest projects and initiatives of the Montgomery County Planning Department of the Maryland National-Capital Park and Planning Commission — including the comprehensive Zoning Rewrite Project — also will be discussed.
Those attending can drop in any time during the three-hour event to visit and see the 11 displays on topics such as master plans and interactive online mapping tools, according to the release.
Residents also will get a chance to talk one-on-one with planners and share what they would like to see in their communities. Kids can explore the art of planning by participating in a build-a-box-city activity.
