“The day turned into the city and the city turned into the mind,” an exhibit by Thomas Drymon and Julie Wolsztynski will run from Oct. 4 to Nov. 4 at the Adah Rose Gallery, 3766 Howard Ave., Kensington. A artists’ reception is set from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Oct. 6 featuring live music by White Chihuahua. In the series “End of Empire,” Drymon employs the framework or skeleton of the city to reflect on how dramatic external changes transform our internal lives. “New York Poetry” is the second in a narrative series by Wolsztynski that explores the photographer’s relationship with New York. The journey of a single night is recorded on film, resulting in a sestet that portrays the mystery and open-ended nature of a city that has the capacity to both inspire and overwhelm.
