A 55-year-old pedestrian died in Suitland Saturday night when he was struck by a passing vehicle, according to Prince George’s police, who are seeking the driver of the white Chevrolet Impala in the fatal hit-and-run collision.
Michael Eugene White, of no fixed address, was walking along the northbound shoulder of Silver Hill Road when he walked into the roadway and in front of the vehicle that struck him around 8:30 p.m., according to police.
County police received a call for a person lying in the roadway and officers arrived to find White dead on the scene.
The driver of the vehicle continued on and did not stop to offer assistance, police said.
The white Impala likely has front-end damage, police said.
