Montgomery County Public Schools Parent Academy has two workshops planned for the week of Sept. 20-26 and will continue with two other, multi-week programs.

Curriculum 2.0 and Grading and Reporting will be discussed from 7-8:30 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 27 at Flora M. Singer Elementary School, 2600 Hayden Drive, Silver Spring. Parents can learn about the integrated curriculum for students in grades K-3 and how it spurs creativity and critical thinking.

Illness Prevention is the topic of a workshop planned for 7-8:30 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 27 at Eastern Middle School, 300 University Blvd. East, Silver Spring. The presentation will be by the Department of Health and Human Services.

Workshops in their second week are: Computer Smart, part 2 of 5, at Earle B. Wood Middles School, Rockville; and Special Education: Parents as Advocates and the Family-School Partnership, part 2 of 4, at Neelsville Middle School, Germantown.
