District Heights officials are looking for golfers for the District Heights Mayor’s Second annual Golf Tournament, scheduled for Oct. 3, at Renditions Golf Course at 1380 West Central Ave. in Davidsonville.

Registration opens at 7 a.m. and the event begins at 8 a.m.

“It’s important because it’s a fundraiser for youth in the community and breast cancer awareness,” said Yolanda Alexander, the city’s recreation department director. “It’s just an opportunity for the mayor [James L. Walls Jr.] and his family, friends and constituents to come out and show support for the event.”

Proceeds will go toward the District Heights Golf Academy, which provides golf lessons to youth and senior citizens.

Admission is $30 for the tournament and the banquet lunch. A group of four golfers can play for $100. A group can pay $350 to receive a goodie bag, breakfast, lunch and a golf cart.

For more information about registering, visit www.districtheights.org or contact tournament director Cecelia Yvonne Hughes at 301-336-1400 or hughesc@districtheights.org.
