The New Market Volunteer Fire Department will host a Fire Safety Open House Sept. 29 through a partnership with the local Food Lion.

The event, which will run from 11a.m.-5 p.m., will be held at the Food Lion at 11700 Old National Pike.

The event features a car seat check point, a fire safety house display and an opportunity for visitors to see fire and EMS vehicles. Children will also be able to participate in fire house line practice.

In addition, free snacks will be available.
