Our Lady of Good Counsel junior Albert C. “Quinn” Simmonds V was invited to join a high school ensemble group led by Earl Jackson, chair of the Landon School's performing arts department, on an unforgettable trip to China.

The group visited China in July, performing at the National Center for the Arts in Bejing and at the Bejing International Band Festival.

During their three-week visit, the students visited Xian, Chengdu, Suzhou-Zhouzhuang and Shanghai.

Highlights of his trip included playing percussion during the group's concert at the U.S. Embassy and climbing to the top of the Great Wall of China.

Simmonds currently plays in the Advanced Percussion and Wind Ensemble groups at Our Lady of Good Counsel High School.
