A man was transported to a local trauma center after sustaining life-threatening injuries from a two-car collision in Bethesda Monday afternoon, fire officials said.

Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services were dispatched at 12:16 p.m. Monday to the intersection of Executive Boulevard and Old Georgetown Road for a two-vehicle collision where the drivers were “pinned” in their respective vehicles, said Beth Anne Nesselt, a spokesperson with county fire and rescue.

By 12:39 p.m., both men were freed from their cars and were transported to the hospital, one with serious life-threatening injuries and the other with serious non-life-threatening injuries, she said.

Nesselt said Montgomery County police will be investigating the accident.
