Carey Creed will celebrate the release of “Small Braveries” at a concert/fundraiser at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 19 at the Takoma Park Community Center auditorium, 7500 Maple Ave., Takoma Park. The concert will offer a bonus for the audience: collaborations among band members highlighting their individual talents and their musical histories with Creed. Creed will donate her percentage of the admissions to Bright Beginnings, a non-profit that helps homeless children in Washington, D.C. have the best chance at obtaining a good start in life. All proceeds from CD sales at the concert will support the work of the local Interfaith Power & Light program, which works with congregations of all faiths across Maryland, D.C., and Northern Virginia to save energy, go green and respond to climate change.Tickets are $16 in advance, $20 at the door with a $4 discount for students.
